Marsoft at Marine Money Maritime Finance & Trade Forum in Panama

Panama has become a central hub for deal-making in the shipping industry, so is a fitting location for the upcoming Marine Money Maritime Finance & Trade Forum next week. Marsoft is pleased to announce that Arlie Sterling, President of Marsoft, will be playing a key role.

Arlie Sterling will be moderating the “Powerhouse” panel, which will focus on dry bulk, energy markets, and developments in the Panama Canal. The panel features industry experts including Luis M. Cañizales (Data & Research Analyst, Maritime Strategies International), Schreiner Parker (Managing Director, Latin America, Rystad Energy), and Gabriel Mariscal (Business Manager - Ship Agency Division, C.B. Fenton & Co.).

Arlie tells us: “Ship finance is facing tough challenges in today’s market.  Ship values are very high, but earnings have not kept up. Basel IV regulation is set to make ship finance significantly more expensive for some of the big European lenders, while also creating new opportunities for banks not subject to those regulations.”

Arlie will also present Best Credit Practices in Ship Lending: Managing Risk Through the Cycles, offering insights into risk management, debt capacity maximization, and strategic optionality in ship lending.

He’ll join a discussion on ship finance alongside Ben Padilla (FPG AIM Americas) and Kevin O'Hara (Director - Investment Banking, Fearnley Securities), moderated by Han Deng (Partner, Transportation – Asset Finance, Reed Smith).

With an excellent lineup of speakers and critical discussions on the future of maritime finance, this forum promises to be a dynamic event in a dynamic location! Arlie looks forward to engaging with thought leaders and decision-makers shaping the future of ship finance in Panama and beyond.
