Marsoft's President Arlie Sterling Presents at the Panamá Maritime Finance & Trade Forum

Last week Arlie Sterling participated in the Marine Money 2nd Panamá Maritime Finance & Trade Forum.

The conference featured several detailed and impressive presentations about Panama, the Panamanian registry, and the Panama Canal. Several speakers highlighted Panama's emergence as a global hub for airlines, illustrating the broader role the country plays in international trade and logistics.

Arlie gave a presentation on ship finance best practices. He focused on a specific transaction structure while also addressing the long-term growth of the shipping industry. He highlighted the substantial growth in world trade and fleet size from 1985 to 2024, noting that trade grew nearly tenfold and the fleet size increased considerably. He emphasized the advancements in bunker consumption efficiency, which decreased by 75% per unit of work, despite the increase in the amount of work performed.

Arlie also moderated the market outlook discussion, which provided an up-to-date briefing on the situation and changes of the Panama Canal. This discussion featured distinguished speakers from MSI, Rystad Energy, and CB Fenton.

Additionally, Arlie participated in a panel on financing ships in Latin America, moderated by Han Deng from Reed Smith. The panel included notable figures such as Ben Padilla from FPG Aim and Kevin O’Hara from Fearnleys.

Marsoft's involvement in the Marine Money 2nd Panamá Maritime Finance & Trade Forum underscores our commitment to advancing the maritime finance industry and supporting the growth of global trade. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with industry leaders and stakeholders to drive innovation and best practices in ship finance.
